8th Battery Buster Campaign Announced

For the 8th consecutive year, Wasteserv is organising the Battery Buster campaign and inter-school battery collection competition. This was announced to all schools through a circular from the Education department. This edition, will be running during the first semester only from next year, the collection of spent batteries will be the suppliers responsibility.

As in previous years, the school which collects the highest amount of batteries per capita will win a grant to be invested in school resources. This time to reflect changes done in the duration of the campaign, grant available for the winning school will be €1,000, while participating children will also enter the chance of winning some new fantastic prizes through a random lottery draw. All prizes are being sponsored by VJ Salomone Marketing Ltd, official distributors of Duracell.

Our mascot Batterina can also be visiting primary schools to promote the campaign further and to explain the dangers of batteries if these are not disposed of correctly. Such visits are available upon request.

Winners of the 8th campaign will be announced in the last semester of the scholastic year 2016/2017.
